Doubting My Own Mind discusses emotionally abusive and controlling relationships from lived-experience, educational, and coaching perspectives.

Last updated: 26 September 2026

1. Lived experience and educational content

Articles, book-related material, and public website content reflect personal experience, interpretation, education, and general information. They are not a personalised assessment of your relationship or another person’s mental health.

2. No diagnosis

The site does not diagnose narcissistic personality disorder, another personality disorder, or any other mental-health condition in a person who has not been clinically assessed by an appropriately qualified professional.

The phrase “narcissistic abuse” is used as a description of patterns and lived experience, not as a clinical diagnosis of another person.

3. Not therapy, medical care, or legal advice

Jared Hayes is not presented as a psychologist, psychiatrist, psychotherapist, counsellor, doctor, lawyer, or licensed mental-health professional. Coaching is not psychotherapy, psychiatric treatment, medical treatment, medication advice, legal representation, or specialist domestic-violence intervention.

4. The book and AI conversations

The book Doubting My Own Mind includes real-time AI conversations preserved as part of the author’s lived record. Statements made by AI in those conversations, including statements that sound certain or diagnostic, should not be treated as clinical diagnoses, professional findings, or universally reliable advice.

The book is narrative nonfiction about one person’s process of confusion, recognition, leaving, professional help, and rebuilding self-trust.

5. Relationship decisions

No public article, book passage, coaching page, or general statement on this site should be treated as an automatic instruction to stay in, leave, reconcile, divorce, report, or otherwise act in relation to a specific relationship. Individual circumstances can involve safety, children, finances, housing, immigration, law, culture, health, and other factors that require qualified local advice.

6. Crisis and safety

This website and coaching service are not emergency services and are not continuously monitored. If you are in immediate danger or experiencing an acute mental-health crisis, use appropriate local emergency, healthcare, or specialist support. See Safety & Crisis Support.

7. No guarantees

No specific emotional, relationship, recovery, financial, legal, medical, or personal outcome is guaranteed from reading the site, buying the book, or using coaching.

8. External resources

Links to external websites, videos, professionals, helplines, marketplaces, or services are provided for convenience or further information. Their inclusion is not a guarantee of accuracy, availability, quality, or suitability for your individual circumstances.

9. No professional relationship from browsing

Reading the website, subscribing to content, clicking a link, or submitting a fit form does not by itself create a therapist-client, doctor-patient, lawyer-client, or other regulated professional relationship.
