Coaching agreement

Coaching Terms

These terms explain the scope, boundaries, payment model, privacy expectations, and responsibilities that apply if you use the recovery-coaching service.

Last updated: 26 September 2026

1. Eligibility

Coaching is offered only to adults aged 18 or older. The service may decline or end coaching if the requested help is outside scope, the fit is poor, safety needs require specialist support, boundaries are repeatedly crossed, or continuing would not appear useful.

2. What coaching is

This is recovery coaching based on lived experience, structured reflection, practical tools, boundaries, self-trust, accountability, decision-making, and rebuilding independence after emotionally abusive or controlling relationships.

The aim is to help you become more independent over time. The working principle is: my job is to help you reach a point where you do not need me.

3. What coaching is not

  • psychotherapy or psychiatric treatment;
  • diagnosis of narcissistic personality disorder or any other mental-health condition;
  • treatment of PTSD, depression, anxiety, or another psychiatric condition;
  • medical or medication advice;
  • legal advice;
  • specialist domestic-violence safety planning;
  • suicide intervention, emergency response, or crisis management.

The term “narcissistic abuse” may be discussed as a description of relationship patterns or lived experience. It is not used here as a clinical diagnosis of another person.

4. Your decisions remain yours

Coaching may help you examine patterns, choices, boundaries, risks, needs, and possible next steps. It does not make major relationship decisions for you and does not automatically instruct you to stay, leave, divorce, reconcile, go no-contact, report someone, or take legal action.

You remain responsible for your decisions and actions.

5. Fit review and booking

The public fit form is a screening step, not a booking. If coaching appears suitable, you may receive a private booking link. The service may decline to offer a session or may recommend a therapist, lawyer, doctor, specialist abuse service, emergency service, or another form of support instead.

6. Session length and languages

Standard sessions are approximately 50 to 60 minutes. Sessions may be conducted in English, Tamil, or Malayalam, depending on the client’s preference and practical availability.

7. Fees and payment

The standard fee is currently ₹1,000 per 50 to 60 minute session, unless a different fee is agreed privately before booking.

The first session is paid after the session. From the second session onward, payment is due before the appointment unless otherwise agreed.

Payment instructions may direct you to a designated UPI or Google Pay recipient whose display name differs from Doubting My Own Mind or Jared Hayes. Only use payment instructions sent through the private contact channel used for your booking.

No recurring subscription or automatic long-term commitment is created unless a separate arrangement is clearly agreed.

8. If the first session is not paid

If the first-session fee is not paid after the session, no further session will be booked until the amount is resolved. At most one polite reminder may be sent. The service does not use aggressive debt-collection tactics for an unpaid first session.

9. Communication and between-session boundaries

WhatsApp, phone, email, or another agreed channel may be used for scheduling and limited administrative communication. Coaching does not include 24-hour messaging access, continuous emotional support, emergency monitoring, or an expectation of immediate replies between sessions.

If ongoing messaging begins to replace the purpose of a scheduled coaching session, you may be asked to bring the topic to the next session or seek another form of support.

10. Privacy and confidentiality

Reasonable efforts are made to keep coaching communications private. However, coaching is not a regulated clinical relationship and communications are not promised to have therapist-client, doctor-patient, or lawyer-client legal privilege.

Information may be disclosed where required by law, to respond to a valid legal process, to address a serious and immediate safety concern, to prevent misuse or fraud, or to protect legal rights. See the Privacy Policy.

11. Recording sessions

Neither party should record a session without the other party’s prior agreement, subject to any non-waivable rights under applicable law. If recording is agreed, the purpose and handling of the recording should be clear in advance.

12. Crisis and immediate danger

This service is not monitored as a crisis line. If you are in immediate physical danger, at immediate risk of seriously harming yourself, or need urgent medical, psychiatric, police, or specialist domestic-abuse intervention, use appropriate local emergency or professional services instead of waiting for a coaching reply.

See Safety & Crisis Support.

13. Ending coaching

You may stop coaching at any time. The coach may recommend ending or pausing coaching if it no longer appears useful, if specialist care is more appropriate, if the service is being used outside scope, or if reasonable communication and payment boundaries cannot be maintained.

Progress should be reviewed periodically. Fewer sessions, less frequent sessions, or ending coaching can be a positive outcome.

14. No guaranteed outcomes

Coaching does not guarantee that a relationship will improve, that another person will change, that you will leave or remain in a relationship, or that a particular emotional, legal, financial, or personal outcome will occur.

15. Cancellations and refunds

The Cancellation & Refund Policy forms part of these coaching terms.

16. Mandatory rights

Nothing in these terms removes rights that cannot legally be waived under applicable consumer, privacy, or other mandatory law.
